Fireplace built out and finished in white shiplap

Richardson

It was just a firebox with drywall around it. We demoed the drywall, framed it out, built out the fireplace and finished it in shiplap and trim. The custom-ordered hearthstone was installed when it came in.

Two-sided master bedroom fireplace with built-ins

McKinney

A two-sided fireplace with an office on the back side. We demoed the drywall around the firebox and framed it out, demoed the wall next to it and built custom shelving with cabinets underneath, then finished it in shiplap from floor to ceiling. It came out so well we ended up shiplapping about three-quarters of the home.

Questions people ask

What’s the difference between a refresh and a full remodel?
A refresh puts a new face on the fireplace you have — stone, tile or shiplap, a mantel and hearth — and typically runs $600–$4,500. A full remodel or custom build adds framing, built-ins, inserts or gas work and is priced after we see it.
Can you build a fireplace where there isn’t one?
Yes. We’ve framed fireplace walls from a bare wall, set electric and linear gas inserts, and finished them floor to ceiling.
Can you add built-ins next to the fireplace?
Yes — custom shelving with cabinets underneath, raised hearth benches and storage cubbies.
Do you replace inserts and gas log sets?
Yes: gas inserts with fire glass, gas log sets, and heat-circulating wood inserts with a blower.
Is there a warranty?
Every project carries our 5-year workmanship warranty, in writing.
