What they wanted
A real fireplace for the pool deck — not a kit, not a prefab insert. Something built out of stone that looks like it came with the house.
What we found
An open slab beside the pool and a brick house to tie into. The proportions had to be worked out on site so the chimney read right against the roofline behind it.
What we did
Built the firebox, the chimney and the raised hearth in cut stone from the footing up, with an arched opening and copper flashing where the chimney meets the structure. Matching stone columns and a stone border went in on the house at the same time.
